Crazy stuff. Looking at all those people who've lived in the corridor posting messages (at the point of living there). Makes me wish I'd made a site for my floor in Darwin :) S3!!!!! In fact S rocked... its practically was where multi player network games started... in the computer room '1' (scrawled in permanent marker -back in 1997) Ahhhhh those were the days "My kills have gone over 99 so its back to 0" - that big out door area level on Doom II.

2 years after my first post and life's still going on. Off to the states in July :o)

PPS Tried to get away from Canterbury but I've been involved in my companies hiring process and have presented there twice and help run the intern hiring program so I now have mates down there... I'll be visiting Elliot again soon and some quality alumni including Ali Jarvis (his g/f is still down there) and Alix Wolverson (Ex SU President - year after mine)

Right....Now hear this....I have just about had enough of this guy "james". If he comes near my dog again I am going to set my lads on him. Shall I relay the sick events to you all??

Well I shall. Last December I was taking my Rottweiller Bernard for a walk in Westgate gardens when I let him off the lead. All was well until he went into the bushes and I heard a wimpering...I ran to find my dog being buggered by some specy freak whom I later found out was called James Manning. Now I am a man of the World but this sick fuck really deserved a kicking and this was duly received.

Well you might say once was a mistake... Mistake my arse! Seven times have I caught this weirdo mounting various dogs in the park..twice on my own poor dog.

Heed this warning James...any more poodle pouncing and you will regret it you beagle buggering fruit.

I will be willing to write this all off as a phase as long as you leave all the dogs alone.

Yours Big Harry

You gits. I have just been suffering from "Missing UKC a shed load" over the past few weeks whilst trying to severe myself from the place and start a life ;-). It's my 6th year attached to the place. 1996 = foundation, 97-00=course, 00-01 Students' Union Communications Officer, 01-02 my girlfriend Michelle Quinn is still there so I'm back loads at weekends. Talk about weening yourself of the place.

Any way it was nice to see stuff like this on the net about a place I loved so much. I'm curious as to why another guest book signer who was searching for info about super soakers found this site as 97-98 sported the largest water fight in UKC history which took place in Rutherford and the field next to it (and Eliot) when Darwin and Eliot took on Rutherford in a massive water fight - I'll never forget my cunning ambush of the Irish Mike (CS) when he thought he was safe in his coridoor but I'd hidden in the shower muhahaha. - Ah the good old days ;)

I don't know which year you were in but I'm W-2-S 2000-2001.

I'd just like to update you to some general information - we hold the record for number of pint glasses nicked from the bar in one weekend (32 I think), we've had the master down here twice and the head-housekeeper down here four times (once Keith left his tap on over the weekend and we didn't notice for a day - we flooded the entire corridor and most of outside), and by the tree outside Room 2 is buried the charred remains of a burnt Buffer poster.

Cheers for the shower door idea, gonna try that on W-4-S.

Drunken Santa painting by Jaisini
http://members.aol.com/JaisiniArt/home.html
The official Paul Jaisini art site

Drunken Santa is a work that creates a miracle of equilibrium. What seemed like a clash of an opposite spectrum's colors became the unlikely harmony in this painting. Jaisini's artistic vision here is formed from two components of physical and emotional states of being.
Freezing and heating serve as a symbol to a human need for warming up from the chill of solitude by means known to people at all times. The artist pursues his art philosophical quest for worldly knowledge that had left its traces in many of his works. A line of composition literally ignites the painting's surface with the movement. The color of this work is "phosphorescent," and it creates the different planes if the subtle color nature. The warm color of purple supports the hot color of Santa's figure and
an exotic fish above Santa. This hot color may represent the so-called material universe, the world of the gross senses that can be observed in a sober state. The cold, arctic blue color represents the unknown, the world of a deep state of drunkenness where real is unreal and otherwise. The only hard reality is the self, which never changes in any state. And maybe that is why Jaisini favors the painting's main hero, Santa, to possess the vivacious color of fire. Jaisini chooses this color of fire to manifest the self and the cold cerulean, cobalt and ultramarine to renounce self as a mortal entity surrounded by the eternal unknown.
While Santa drinks his feelings of frigid loneliness vanish. And so, he gets a company of some almost hallucinatory nature. A shark, a ghostly image, a profile of another prototypical drunk who is not accidentally situated in a horizontal position. An amalgam of the several female figures that consists of a woman in stockings, a nun, and a big-breasted silhouette that creates a shadow between.
A heat can be sensed around the hot colored Santa who has lost his beard and is holding a glass of red wine. He shows his thumb that may be just a polite substitution for the middle finger sign.
The colors of the work are balanced by a virtuoso composition of a cubist character. The picture's space is divided endlessly. More images start to appear. The world of "Drunken Santa" vitalizes to almost chaotic state. The work is a treasure. It depicts and witnesses the intangible mechanism of reality transformation. In the state of intoxication, what happens to the solid world of sober state? Everything disappears. It is just like the dream world, that we call unreal, because when we are awaken it is not there. Just so the solid world must be unreal because it also vanishes in the drunk or deep-sleep states. Then what is reality? In "Drunken Santa," this problem is elaborated to the triumphant conclusion, the simplicity of symbolism of the warm and cold colors. The dazzling composition of figuration superimposed to abstraction. And besides the beauty of artistic logic, Jaisini's works are marked with the rich, magnetic colors, as in "Drunken Santa" and others, strikingly attractive pictures in their intricate game of light and shadow, in their absolute congruence of visual and conceptual.

Worst site on the net?
Quite possibly.

I am surfing the W2-S site because I was threatened by a giant cucumber

With nothing else to do, I thought I'd come and check this out on a Sunday afternoon.
I have to say I'm impressed. I enjoyed Timo's one-liners a lot (and got a few strange looks
in the computer room when I burst out laughing).
One thing thought, your corridor looked so much nicer than ours, and was that carpet
in the hall way?
If you see me in Rutherford bar (I'm usually the drunk one), give us a few super-soaker
tactics.

I am surfing the W2-S site because Some bloke stuck up a little poster in our corridor.

What can I say, I'd heard the reports, but really nothing could have prepared me for the onslaught that I experienced once I had entered your weird and wonderful world...I feel violated.
I am surfing the W2-S site because I've heard about it's coveted ITV award & saw the new ads.

If Paul signed the guest book I guessed I should do to.
No real reason or thing to say.

I am surfing the W2-S site because Paul did and I also want to. Does this have to be in less than 20 words or something and do you get a prize for the best entry? [No. -Timo]
